Turner isn't so bad a manager that he doesn't realise that we need new signings and we haven't signed a single player this close season other than confirming very young goalie back in May who had been playing for the reserves last season. Since then rumours of a takeover have been everywhere and in the same time Pools's contract of employment store cupboard has remained firmly closed. We had two players out yesterday who aren't Hartlepool employees.
I can come to no other conclusion that Turner simply is not allowed to sign anyone even when theres no fee involved and that, along with everything else that has been said, convinces me that Hartlepool United FC Limited are undergoing pre sale due dilligence. Part of the sale of any business usually precludes any recruitment and HUFC are a company like any other.

Hopefully this uncertainty will be concluded this coming week one way or another and we can get on with the season.

I totally agree with everything Mr I has said and also still believe that we will get a new manager and Turner will go upstairs and be the new Hodcroft.

Also, the three 'trialists' have been with us for what, three maybe four weeks now. They must have been told there's a contract with their name on, but there's a slight delay because of XYZ.

Why else would they still be here? Perhaps nobody else wants them, but it seems pretty certain we do.

The season starts in less than 2 weeks, no way would they still be hanging around, if the guarrantee of a contract for at least a year wasnt already on the table.

I have no doubt that Turner recognises that new blood is needed. I also agree with Mr I that his hands are tied until whatever is going to happen actually happens.
My worry is that Turner will still pick these new players, still pick the team, still dabble in the playing format and still be in the manager's chair.
Now if that were to change as well then I would be more confident of us progressing. I would love to be proved wrong about Turner's ability to manage a football team at this level, but there are absolutely no signs of that ever happening.
My gut feeling is that he ( Turner ) will go back upstairs.
I would be happy with that.
