I'm still optimistic , the new man will be better and find Pools 1st £10 million player and enough youngsters to get us into the Championship and establish ourselves there prior to a push into the Premiership.

Great role for Ritchie Humpreys to move into the next stage of his career. He is already doing some work with a college one day a week (sure I saw this in the press last season) so might have desire to move into Youth Team as first step to management, after all you would imagine his time on the pitch will be more limited this term.

That post is typical of the way Pools has been run over recent years - where can we squeeze Humphreys into irrespective of anyone else who might do the job better.

I genuinly think Humphreys could be a very good coach and why not try and keep a guy at the club who has potential to be a coach and possibly a manager, someone who loves Pools or shall we let him go to another club to be successful?

Before this turns into a moan fest or a Humphreys bashing thread, can I just ask how many youth players have made it into the first team on a regular basis since this Mitchell fella took over in 2005?

Director of youth or assistant manager of a team with ambition.

I know what job i'd choose.

If he wants to progress as a coach he had no option but to leave Pools as he's been overlooked twice when West and Wadsworth were appointed - so he's moved on. Plus as Director of Yoof he didn't even coach the youth team as that was Barron's job.

I met terry mitchell when my son was at pools and he seemed a bit of a timid person and not the type to give grown ups a kick up the arse (although I could be wrong). He's also from up gateshead way if I can remember.

I dont think him leaving will bring the club to its knees as some have predicted

Got to say Terry Mitchell hasn't produced much since he joined the club in 2005. It was a regular occurrence that the young exciting players would represent us in the first team prior to his tenure. I'm sure he must've been one of snottys appointments. Maybe he's decided to walk form the job before it further destroyed his reputation. But heigh ho don't let the loss of this "vital" club asset get in the way of Humps bashing thread..
