Good luck to the lad, seemed to have a good football brain and could pick a pass, just not fit enough imo.

agree with that, he could sit in centre midfield and ping balls all over the place, just could'nt run very far.

i think only me and Dibble must have attended that match

If ever there was a way to introduce yourself to a new club then this was it, he had everything (in that one match  )

Best midfield performance from a Pools player in many a year, pity it was a friendly!

In one of his early reserve fixtures he went on a bustling run to the edge of the box before pinging the ball into the bottom right corner. It was a goal that Gascoigne wouldn't have disowned. There is a player in there somewhere. Whether he wants to be a footballer badly enough is questionable.

I concur, unfortunately I dont think a manager like Turner will get the best out of such a player. He needs a Cyril Knowles type figure to kick him up the arse. The ability is there but the motivation isnt.

theres certainly a good player in there if he gets his head sorted.

The same could be said for all 3 midfielders that were released....

they were all younger, and probably better than the 3 we kept.

id certainly wager than either jones, power, or rowell ends up at some point playing in the championship. theres certainly the potential there.

humps, gamble, and sweeney on the other hand.... dear oh dear. none of them would get a game in the centre of midfield at any other club in this division.

then again, as we have seen with mckay, getting a contract at pools has sweet fook all to do with your ability on the pitch.

I'd say jones might have a chance of playing in the championship if he sorts himself out,

I reckon power and rowell will play div2 at best.

Looks like Rowell might be signing for Charleroi. Not sure where they are in their league but am I right in thinking they're in the UEFA cup sometimes?
