The BBC has announced that this year's series will be the last.

RIP.

Never again will an old man rolling down a hill in a wheelbarrow be classed as situation comedy.

It’s a sad day.

Actually fook playing along.

Last of the Summer Wine has been on telly for 37 years

How the fook does something as shite manage to stay on telly for that long? It's something that was made to depress people on a Sunday..... like God saying "school/work tomorrow, unlucky son" in the style of Heart Beat.

It should have been binned in early 1973 when it was established old men rolling down hills in wheelbarrows can only be midly amusing once.

I concur 100%. Even to this day seeing it on tv just depresses me and makes me think of sunday evenings gutted at another weekend which has flown by way too quickly. LOTSW, Heartbeat, Songs of praise, Antiques Roadshow. rage

Yeah, I know what you mean.

The end of Heartbeat used to mean having to go to bed for me when I was at school.

Thank the Lord that it's bought it, tame humour at it's worst. If I ever see it now it just reminds me of Royston Vasey.

The show wasn't the same since Compo died, a nice family show though and I have to say I've enjoyed many an episode...
