Shite sticks around though, doesn't it?

I'd rather wait a season until the 'Mighty rolfl ' LUFC come crashing back down.

That for me?

I actually used to work in Leeds, and went to a lot of their games in the mid-90's.
The contrast between going to a game there as a neutral and as an away supporter is staggering.

HTH. confised

As a test for the team it will be a good one.

As a money maker for the club it's bobbins. It's the first weekend of the school hols, it will be all ticket and policing bill will be huge.

Another PR failure.

P.S. Leeds are scum and we shouldn't play them unless forced to do so.

friendlies which generate genuine interest due to the novelty factor are a better idea

The words 'Leeds' & 'friendly' are a contradiction in terms

It's the greedy bounders in the Premiership that go on preseaon tours to the far east that has killed the preseason friendly and another revenue stream for the lower league clubs. At least it gives the poor basdards working in the sweatshops a chance to glimps their "local" teams.

I think Newcastle, Sunderland and Boro have no excuse not to play us and will be far better than Leeds.

Isn't that the same day as we are playing Gateshead? I assume we'll just be sending a reserve team to Gateshead now.

Can't really see what's wrong with a friendly against Leeds, at least there will be an atmosphere unlike the morgue type encounters we usually have. It's not as if our fan's detest each other is it?, I recall it was the heavy-handed Leeds security/stewards who tended to cause friction at their place.
