Trains running up the coast are easy to get and not very expensive

Well flights; why Barcelona?

You'd do better flying direct, book your flights from East Midlands to Valencia and not only can you stay at my gaff 4 miles from the airport, I'll drop you off and collect you thus saving parking fees.

If you're flying Ryanair - don't. Gerona is about 80 miles from Barcelona.
If it's Easyjet then El Prat (honest) airport in Barca is well connected to railway stations and you can get a cheap bus from Barca to Valencia.

But to be honest Barcelona would be my last option; choice one would be direct to Balenthia, second choice is fly to Alicante and get one of the hundreds of buses. Barca is way down the list.

Which airline have you booked?

EasyJet....£290 for both of us....the cheapest by far I could find!!!! confised

The other option was with another airline flying from Newcastle to Bristol....waiting 7 hours to get a flight to Valencia....on the way back stopping in Rome for 5 hours and then back to Newcastle!!!! confised

1 option I rather liked was getting the Train but worked out over £500 and takes about 23 hours....would have still liked to have done that like!!!! :grin:

ok, well Easyjet fly direct to El Prat Airport and the good news is that it has a metro station within the airport so its easy to get direct into Barca. From there you've got a choice of either bus or train, both are cheap enough.
