Both bounders of the highest order

Although Kamaras dad is/was a nice old fella

Whats the crack regarding the fa cup and low crowds?

In the 70's and 80's the fa cup was THE big crowd puller, i remember Pools playing Derby and York in 83/84 in the cup and both crowds were over 7,000, which in those days would be the equivalent of Pools getting 20,000+ now confised ....the full town would be buzzing and thats all people would talk about all week....

Now no-one seems to give a fook.

Its lost all the magic for me like.

For me, it's because the finals are sooooo fooking dull and the coverage is cack
It used to be a full day on cup final day, now it wouldnt suprise me if the FA moved it to a Sunday teatime

This is almost as funny as watching Dar-low.

Dar-low and Newcastle are the same.
Both think they are better than they are and have a superioty complex.
Both buy players that turn out to be not very good.
Both have irritating chairmen.
Both sets of fans are unrealistic.
And so forth.

Ill agree with that like talbot, cup final day was a big occasion on the English calendar wasnt it?....it started early in the morning and the big build up continued right up to 2.55 and Abide with me, then you always had a great game and endless heroes and villians....Greenhoff, Roger Osborne(never heard of again),Alan Sunderland,Paul Allen and Willie Young,Ricky Villa and Tommy Hutchison,Norman Whiteside and Kevin Moran,Ian Rush and Gary Lineker,Keith Houchen,Lawrie Sanchez....the list is endless.

I cant remember who the heroes of the last 5/10 years are can you?

Anyway Brums 5th has just rolled in

The magic is back!!!!!

They can, it's just invariably the winners are already in either the Champions League or the UEFA Cup anyway.... Millwall got into the Uefa the other year by getting to the final... however the Champions League is the big prize for them so they don't care much about the cup unless it's the only competition they can win that season or they're not going to get into Europe any other way.....

I think it's partly live TV as well. Used to be that the Cup Final, maybe the League Cup final and England games were all that you could watch live, and the buildup was amazing - still remember seeing Eddy Grant playing for a celeb all-star team and he was pretty useful up front an'all.... now, it's wall to wall live TV and it's nothing special....

The launch of the premier league was the beginning of the death of football. All about greed and the so called big boys. There is simply too much football on tv, a lot of the games are very drab and predictable.

Things that piss me off about football.

1) Players getting paid for playing for England. It should be an honour to represest your country and if you won't play for nothing then don't fucking bother.

2) Players retiring from international football, you should always be avalable to your country if required. If its too much of a dent to your ego the prospect of being omitted then it is worrying.

3) Teams full of foreigners. Arsene Wenger is also a tit.

4) The media, the premieshite is built up hugely but people are getting bored of it. Half empty stadiums everywhere.

5) Ticket prices, why are prices for England matches so high? Sometimes more than 40 quid, where does the money go? Why do so many football clubs fleece their fans....?

According to the Sport News, it's going to get even worse... as from next season even the teams that get relegated from the Prem will get £30million from TV rights. How on earth are any of the others supposed to complete with that? I can see it ending up as certain clubs just yo-yoing between Prem and Champ, and no-one else really getting much of a look in. I hope Colchester make it this season just so that all the prima-donnas get a reminder of why the small clubs are important to the game....

Let's face it, there's nothing a lot of the Prem clubs would like more than being able to pull the ladder up behind them and turn into an American-style League with no promotion/relegation - is it just coincidence that American Owners are getting more interested in the Prem? Just think, if you could buy into someone like Charlton knowing they'd never get relegated, guaranteed £30million plus, get in a bunch of foreign internationals on relatively cheap wages and sit there creaming off the profits....

Hopefully sooner rather than later.

I'm just dreaming of the day the really big names (and by that I mean those who attract the most money) welcome to the board into some full time European league or another and WE lock the door behind them.
It might mean the rest of the clubs have a lot less money to share, but that's only going to affect those who've been weaned on silly TV cash anyway.

But that day's not so far off Monty, what's the Champions League all about?? It's the Champions and three others from the Premiership, it's not a Champions League at all. Even when Liverpool won it and finished fifth they tried to keep them out of it. How can you have a Champions league without the current Champions?? That puts the lie to the name for starters.

However!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The telly audience will SERIOUSLY decline if all there is is a steady stream of boring Italians and cheating Spaniards, dour Dutch and flairless French coming over the air. The fans will migrate to the teams outside that league in numbers and it'll become essentially the London League because only the cockney reds, Chelseas chunts, the Arsenal arses and the Scouse thieves will be interested. The FA can't put their money in it to any great extent because it's not in their mandate, the Football League don't already and hopefully terrestrial telly will sweep in and bolster the image of the lower leagues (if they've got any balls and brains) and the beautiful game will return!!

Or am I being romantic again??
