Yes he is from Hartlepool, always been a good player, was a cut above when I played with him when he was younger, top lad aswell! could do a good job for us.

Not that it makes any difference to his ability, which I believe is proven, but not only is from the town but still lives here, Seaton to be precise. If we were interested it would make a difference when it comes to contract negotiations, not having to move, no more daily travelling etc

Michael Gray the ex Sunderland and England left back has also been released by the Sheff Wed but for me I would rather have Horwood as he would probably be hungrier than Gray. I remember how great I thought it was that we signed Robbie Elliot and he turned out to be a massive disappointment.

Also Michael Rose has not been playing for Norwich recently so might not sign for them and would most likely move from Stockport in the summer

knowing mr horwood personally he did not have a trial at pools last season. his agent was on at pools to get him transferred here, but constantly got the answer

"We dont need a left back, Mr Humphries is doing a sterling job" (well along those lines)

Then we went and signed Hartley (a centre half to slot in to left back)

I personally hope he does come, as he has said he would be hungry to succeed at Pools

Was it Horwood who got released by Turner a few years ago at Pools? Or was that his brother? Or have I totally made up he has a brother?

If we didn't need a left back why did Turner loan one at the end of last season from Huddersfax and then the same Turner spent the best part of the summer chasing after Michael Rose, before signing Peter Hartley..........to play at left back.

I find it hard to believe that Turner would say that.
I know he is not a master tactician but everybody and his brother knew he was after a left back.

I wouldn't mind giving Horwood a shot.

Turner was manager at Stockport, when Horwood was on loan there for 10 matches in 2005 from Sheff Utd.

Evan has two brothers (Garteth & Brynn)

His brothers are great players also, but never made it all they way at pools
