No it isn't, we'd never allow ourselves to be so crassly managed. We came close maybe in the Gibson era but he was trying to rob an empty bank.

At the time, they were all crowing about how they were becoming the new member of the 'big four' in the North East and shouting from the hilltops about how Georgy was their saviour. Remember 'we're so rich it's quite incredible??'

What is is a lesson in humility, three years later they had the buckets out.

The lesson is this: next time go for a Harold Hornsey and not a George anybody. A supporter not a chancer.

Look and Learn for Loids. confised

When I first drove over the hill on the a66 and caught my first glimpse of 'home' i remember saying 'farking hells bells'. As for the stadium itself, it's impressive. The area's for Sponsers and directers are truly superb but It's not Darlo. Its to friggin big and too friggin empty. The concourses are similar to all concourses iv'e seen in stadiums before. My opinion, It looks good but it's not for me. I know there is no going back, but i do miss the homely feel of feethams, my spiritual home

If you think that sarf, then you really don't know me. The whole Darlo/Pools sniping bores me to tears. I'm happy to see Darlo lose, but not if they are playing a team close to us in the table. For example, I was happy with your result against Posh last week. And if anything from Darlo is good I will say so. The Arena isn't. Nowhere near as nice a ground as even other new ones like e.g. Hull or Swansea. Grey, samey, dull, crap seats, crapper catering, even crapper location.

Sorry John, I had to ask. Have you been inside then?

I think The Sarf ought to know, that myself and Mad John have a VERY good friend "on the inside" at The Arena Sarf, we've both been and sampled the delights..it's all a bit of a sham isn't it?( removes offensive bit because he'll get sued..!!!)....

Yeah, I had the misfortune of attending your home game against Grimsby this season. Left with the score still 2-1 in order to negotiate the (crap) parking

The whole experience just left me deflated. Heck, even the bloody coffee! Hot water in a cup and vague wave in the direction of a table ("coffee's over there"). Why FFS?! A place without a heart, and a million miles from what GR must have envisaged.

I know what you mean. I really don't enjoy the home match day experience any more. That's partly why i havn't been to a home game this season

theres nothing behind the seats or underneath is there?

Possibly more to the point, there's nothing on the seats for most of the time....

I had this argument with DJ when it was first announced - it's just too big. a 15 or even 10K capacity with room to extend if ever needed would have been more than enough for you, just as it would be for us - instead there's now the expense of maintaining all that extra real estate, plus the fact that having a stadium that size with even 6K in it is always going to be a killer for atmosphere. Our stadium may be derided by many in Darlo, but with 6K in it can really be rocking - sometimes even with less. You'll be relying on all the corporate events etc just to keep the stadium ticking over, never mind trying to raise money for players.....

It was never going to be more than George's Vanity Project, it's a legacy for you in the worst sense. A bit like GG's seating of the Rink End for us....
