You know what I'm baffled as to why?

why does ANYONE buy/run a football club?....only a very very small percentage of them make money, most are ran at a pretty decent loss.

It's a question that has always puzzled me. I'm thankful for but especially puzzled by companies like IOR. I can see local businesses, banks / building societies, betting companies, airlines etc getting involved, but it's not like saying I'll get my oil from IOR or buy my energy from Dove. My thoughts are that the reasons are a combination of the most popular options at the top of this page plus the fact that in many cases directors & chairmen take money out in the way of wages and consultancy fees - even with loss making clubs. I don't know if this the case with Pools.
