It's (apologies cricket reference coming  ) like when Geoff Boycott talks about batting, add two wickets on to the current score and things wouldn't look as good, with Pools at the moment you've got to take three points off!

Tranmere have Colchester and Millwall plus Stockport, on current form I can only see three points at best.

trannies need at least 5 points from their last 9 to overtake us (assuming we get 3 points deducted)

Loving the 'cock on the block' call from Sky Sports Centre here;

http://live.skysports.com/ScoreCentre/live.html

Brave shout that at that stage that Brentford are in control

I know, I Know link doesn't work it said;

90 The referee blows for full time

90 Brentford are in control of the match

4 points makes us absolutely safe.We could easily be mathematically safe at 5pm on Saturday

We could also be unsure again a week later if we lose the points, but I am confident that we will stay up.

Looking at the fixtures the others have even losing our last 3 we should be safe it is the threat of a points deduction that is keeping the pressure on. Maybe the league should end early due to volcanic ash.

I think we'll get three more points this season, I think we'll draw against Walsall and Brentford but the clincher is Exeter, they'll be fighting for their lives. I think we might well draw that one too.

I said same in earlier thread and got shot down in flames.

Beat Exeter we go on to 54 points they're on 46. That's 8 points clear of them with 2 games left. Take 3 points off we have a 5 point lead. They have to win both.

With Charlton and Huddersfield (both at home) can anyone really see that.

Simply the home game against Exeter is the clincher, we can even afford to lose the other 2 , but rather we didn't.

Tranmere have Colchester(A) Millwall(H) and Stockport (A) they would need 9points from them 3 games to overtake us from them as well. As 7 would mean them turning over a 26 goal difference.

So let's just beat Exeter, that in my opinion is all that matters.

Its 26 goals not the 6 that we nearly blew last season. rolfl rolfl

Fair play to him, it would have taken an absolute genius to have worked all that out. Well done chip.

tranmere on current form should only pick up 3 more points giving them 47

51 - 3 from the game that liddle should not have played in =48.
if the league website did have the number of bookings against liddle wrong as was inferred on this site
surely we are only looking at a 3 point deduction so they can safe face.

if we can pick up thee more points then we have definately scraped in to safety.

however having watched the pitiful attempt at wycombe i can see my nails being rather shorter over the last three games.

Thats what worries me, if they get that 'job done, we can relax' attitude we could yet be in the mire.

if we win on satuday the exeter game is academic.

anyone who thinks otherwise is so stupid that if you cut them in half the letters t h i c k c u n t would be clearly visible.

so get yrselves there and support the lads etc etc blah blah blah

hth.

And if we lose, which is quite possible with our away record then Exeter at home becomes the clincher.

Agreed if we win at Walsall it becomes irrelevant just like if we lose at Walsall, lose at home to Exeter and beat Brentford it becomes irrelevant.

Is it the wrong time of month for you Chip you seem to be antagonising quite a lot lately.

The simple fact is people, me included, believe that Exeter may well be the clincher.

If we had won 1 of the away games between Saturday 21st November and March 13th when we lost 9 away on the trot we wouldn't be in this position.

Anyone who thinks otherwise is so stupid that if you cut them in half the letters t h i c k c u n t would be clearly visible. But we didn't win any of them, and with our away form, most people believe the Exeter game may well be the clincher.

To me Walsall is a game if we get anything from it's a bonus, they've lost 5 in 21 at home while Exeter have won 2 in 22 away.

Before you mention Gillingham at the Vic, I know we can drop points, but if you were to mention Gillingham at the Vic my response would be Yeovil at Huish Park.

Which to me would have been the better game for picking up something away from home between them and Walsall.

You used to use logical reason and discussion, yet lately you've resorted to simple abuse of people. In this case they(me included) saying ,simply which game may decide the season.

If we had won 43 games we would be up as champions but we haven't,and 4 wins away in 20 doesn't exactly fill people with hope (although I for one will have it) that we can put this season to bed with a win on Saturday.

the problem with the attitude " exeter is the big one " is that it leads everyone to switch off this saturday. all 3 of our remaining games are equally important and we need to place equal signifigance to each of them.

we could lose the exter game and stay up comfortably.

in fact, we could lose all 3 of our games and stay up.

the truth is that one more point from our 3 games should be enough. and i hope we get at least that this weekend.

as i said, if we win this weekend and tranmere and southend lose the exter game will be totally irrelevant.

I agree with that and if put that way originally I would not have had a problem.

But the fact is if we win on Saturday and Tranmere and Southend win, then it goes to the next game(Exeter)

The point I was making is a win against Exeter puts us 8 points clear of them(prior to any points deduction), as they are "rivals" in any possible relegation battle taking points from them makes the game "more important",in a sense.

With only Oldham(play Southend) and Wycombe(play Swindon) at home on Saturday, not counting Stockport(they out of equation) then a win on Saturday will make us safe. And as you said the next game is the important one.

Some discussed Exeter(me included) simply because they're down there with us and once more if you had used reasoned discussion as you have in the quote I've used on this post, it would have been a better debate, instead you used abusive comments.
