No, at the time (2003) Meatloaf was touring over here, and he was mightily impressed to see in the news that some town, he'd probably never heard of, had taken a political protest vote and elected the football clubs monkey mascot as it's towns new mayor.

This encouraged him to become an overnight fan of our club, to which he professed his loyal backing of our great club on a well known high profile chat show of the time donned with scarf and Hangus mascot.
Although it does say on the internet his support grew from meeting some of our fans on a T.V. show - not sure if thats true. I cant remember whose chat show it was Jonathan Woss?
