I started volunteering today at the first global sporting event to be held in Medway, the 3rd of the five-event Modern Pentathlon World Cup Series at the newly refurbished Medway Park leisure complex in Gillingham (the other side of the Priestfield Stadium).

There's an interesting video interview with Olympic silver medallist Heather Fell, who is also ranked fifth in the world. She's one of the British teams best hopes in the competition of a podium finish, but she's been ill with a virus and hasn't trained well.

Hardly the greatest of adverts to pull the punters in, which is a shame really.
