We've certainly come a long way.

Yes it might have been broadcast today in CERTAIN countries although in a different context. Nowadays you have to have thirty five people sitting round a table questioning your every thought when you express an opinion. He would have had the piss taken out of him all the way to Newburn sewer.

But there are plenty of other countries where he'd have been straight before the judge with remarks like that. And the TV station wouldn't have heard the last of it either!

If it happened today yes, he would have been punished, though I don't know what the sentences are. Having said that it would never have got that far on the air.

I wonder who the guy was. He seems to have a whiff of upper class about him.
