I thought you would be more interested in the boat race on at the weekend who do you think will win?

I reckon it will be either Oxford or Cambridge, or it could be a draw

Does anyone else other than toffs like the boat race, I mean I live close to Cambridge and most people round here couldn't give a toss. Same when I lived in Oxford all the hoo-ray Henry's love it and wank over the bragging rights but the average bloke on the street probably doesnt even know when it is.

Well, as I say, I support Oxford Uni purely because my Dad grew up in Oxford after the family left West Hartlepool, and my American aunt used to be a lecturer in the Faculty of Music at Oxford.

Oxford have been unusually strong in the last few years where the race is concerned - I remember watching the race on TV when I was younger and seeing Cambridge hammer Oxford most of the time. Oxford couldn't get a look in then.

Whats it like being a toff Compo, I mean do you have a lot of trouble with the middle-class children cutting across your front lawn on the way to the gymkhana?

Compo's not very keen on places where women have plums in their mouths....I know he told me.

On the other hand I know people who would pay for the pleasure.

clappp I live in Huntingdon and with my accent could never be a toff, some people round here are a bit like that though. I live in what people would call the "wrong end of the town" in Huntingdon and a bloke said why you living there its like the getto. I said if you could see some areas in the north-east you would be shocked (such as Mayfair street etc before knocked down)

If I had to pick an area in Hartlepool that is similar to were I was living now it would be either Clavering or the Brandon close / Spalding road areas of the town. stpid

Wow. At least you've given me a yellow card Ripper. I was banned last time cos I was "not needed". Out of interest, were you censored for your homphobic rant against Alexander McQueen? Thought not.

Well you thought wrong then didn't you, but there's absolutely no surprise in that.

For the record, you've done nothing to convince me that you are needed, but praise where it's due and at least the post above contained more than two sentences (for possibly the first time ever) so maybe you're addressing your limitations?

Although I see that you're still using words like homophobic at every given opportunity and trying to shit-stir for the fun of it. stpid (Noted)

Mr Ripper,
Why do you always talk down to Mr OO??
Is it for the fun of it??
Are ANY of us actually "needed" including you????
Does it matter how many sentences any of us use to get a point across????

It seems pretty trivial to me that a poster should be hounded simply because he appears to be a man of few words.

I'm not bothered that much really but it gets a bit boring after a while and I can't help thinking that it is all a bit pointless.

Give the lad a break. What happened to a bit of tolerance????

I've no doubt that you've got your reasons and they may be good ones but, in my humble opinion, Mr OO is no more offensive than the rest of us.

Just trying to be reasonable, so don't take offence as there is none intended. More idle curiosity than anything else.

Mr Derwent, do a search on all of his posts over the last few years and you'll get an idea why he is seen as an irritant by a lot of people.

Thanks for the reply.
I haven't noticed him as an irritant.
Maybe I am missing something.

I'm led to believe that he actually claims to be trying to deliberately irritate everybody on here and gets off on the thought that he might succeed. To me that is the actions of a five year old and he does nothing to disprove the thought that it may actually be his mental age.

Hence why in my opinion he's not needed, but it isn't my board.

Wouldn't it be better not to react to him, so that he can't succeed at 'getting off' on his attempted wind-ups. You're probably making his day by your reaction to his posts.

That sounds like the "to moderate or not to moderate" argument.
