Research into motor neurone disease - please take a couple of minutes to read this.

Jimmy Muvaney ex Pools & Stockport player has this wasting disease. His family and friends are organising fund raising events to raise funds into the research of this disease.

A raffle is starting tomorrow - main prize - a framed, signbed red millennium shirt (it's in the Corner Flag if you would like to have a look) one of only 50. There will also be other prizes. Tickets will be on sale in the Corner Flag and the Mill House. £1 a strip

Collections will be made at the Tuesday night game with Stockport (April 13th)

Saturday 17th April a group are cycling from Sunderland to Hartlepool to raise funds and awareness for this charity. They will arrive at the Corner Flag around 12 - and are hoping to pop into the Mill House as well.

Please support them as they do there best to make people more aware of this illness whilst raising funds for the research that is needed.

Thanks for your time.

I had it in my head that Jimmy Mulvaney had died at quiet a young age. Am I getting him confused with someone else from that era. Or am I just getting my facts wrong, about Jimmy suffering from Motor Neurone, has he had this disease for a while?

Scooby,
I can't get to the match today, you mention that the raffle starts today, does that mean that the tickets will be on sale for a while before being drawn or will it be drawn today?

Tickets go on sale today. The draw will be on Saturday 17th April at the Colcester match. This is the day a group, including some of Jimmy's family, are cycling from Sunderland to Hartlepool.

When I get more info I'll post it - this has been organised by the cyclists who asked for our help.
