According to FourFourTwo about to try to branch out into the music business by releasing a single called "Survive" which is out sometime in March this year. He's apparantly been studying video editing at the London Academy of Media, Film and TV.

He also revealed that his father, Neil Danns Sr, was a backing singer in the 1970s who performed with a group who went in for "A Song For Europe", although he didn't say who the group was and what year they entered.

Well, I thought somebody would have worked that out ages ago, although it's not a lot to go on.

Although, he never did say what year his father entered and what the name of the act was that he sung.

"Danns produced an insulting video which shows images of famine and terrorism alongside Danns pumping his first whilst wearing an ushanka and looking like a complete prick. It is possibly one of the most ill-judged videos ever to be recorded."

Just seen the video now. Not really a great singer to be honest. I couldn't hear that well to be honest. I like political message songs. This song is very much in the vein of "Where is the love?" by Black Eyed Peas, but only darker. Some of the lyrics that you managed to hear, when Danns wasn't singing, did make you think sometimes.

Will this be released? If so, is there a chance that this could chart (not merely because he's a footballer)?

Peter Mandelson singing "Things can only get better" is quite impressive.

Yeah, but I just find it strange that all this about Neil Danns' father comes out when Neil Junior is trying to launch a pop career.

Usually, journalists are quite good at finding out interesting pieces of information about players/ managers (like Iain Dowie's engineering degree), but this is a full 6 years after he had a loan spell with 'Pools.

Apparantly somebody once thought that the lyrics in "Land of Make Believe" by Bucks Fizz was an attack on Margaret Thatcher when she was PM.
