Thousands of people die everyday unfortunately, it's part of life. I know the importance of football, it personally doesn't change for me just because someone dies.

As the late great Bill Shankly said "People think football is a matter of life and death but it's much more important than that"

RIP Keith. Thoughts with your family. sadx

That is tragic news. My condolences go to everyone at Macclesfield Town and Keith's family.

What awful news that is!!!!

We may all as people support different football teams from across the country, but in times like these, we are united by the grief and sadness of the loss of a human being.

R.I.P Keith Alexander. rolf rolf rolf rolf

I never liked him, did anyone go to the away game when we lost 2-0 in the promotion season?? He spent the entire game whining at the ref/4th ref/the other fookin' refs and when it was 0-0 he was telling the ball boys to do ferk all on our throws and feigning stopping the ball and letting it roll through etc.

Horrible, cynical man, a perennial poor player, a worse manager, but I guess now he's dead he's a saint, right??

Yeah, RIP. confised

RIP.

For every silly boy like John Terry you get a proper football person like Mr Alexander. That's why I feel lucky to follow a club at this level at the game.

Mr Spender do give over, so because his teams played in a certain manner and he moaned at the ref that made him a "horrible, cynical man". If you don't like someone that's up to you but you surely need a better reason than that!? In interviews he always seemed a nice enough bloke, Bobby Gould said on Talksport that you wouldn't find anyone in the game with a bad word to say about him.

And if, when off the pitch, he turned on the charm, well....what can I say?? Joey Barton seems like a nice chap when he's not raving pissed or full of coke and smacking people, and that Craig Bellamy helps blind kids across the road when he's not booting his team mates, and that Lee Hughes, he's really sorry you know.... rolfl rolfl rolfl

So becuase his team time wasted and he moaned to a ref whilst having to cheek to stuff Pools you are comparing him to people who have been convicted of crimes and sent to prison.

Seems fair.

Sorry Spender can't agree with you I met Keith a few years ago when he was at peterboro we had just beat them 1-0 scoring late on and he took time out after the game to come and talk to the lads in the sponsors box even though we had been on his case all game a true gentleman and a good laugh as well Rip Keith

I fail to see what point you are trying to make other than looking for an argument. Hughes and Barton both went to prison, your opinion on Alexander seems to be based on the way he played football and the way he managed football teams. Is that a reason enough to dislike a person enough to call them "horrible and cynical" on his death? Or can you admit it is slightly ott?

A simple question, did you ever meet the bloke? Because I’ve been listening to people who knew him well and said he was a good person. Yet I quote Bobby Gould and get laughed at.

I stated my case, you objected and I justified it. You carried on. Who's looking for an argument?? I agree he stopped being horrible and cynical when he died like....

Without wishing to get all 'kentish' about this, I do think you're in a very small minority, Mr S.

Alexander was a real character, but I'd take ten of him over chunts like Martin Allen.
