That has to be the 1st time there has not been a replay of the tackle.

Wonder if they show it on Match of the day sctatchinghead

Quite a few times they have refused to show replays.

However you just know Andy Gray sat there watching it 50 times.

Nothing wrong with it. If his leg wasnt bent in half then no way he got red card. Doesnt even look high, looks like Ramseys studs caught in ground and Shawcross kicks his leg, no studs showing or anything.

A horrible accident imo.

I don't think it was anything like deliberate, not from that piece of footage anyway.

That was my first thought as well, it was just a mistimed tackle, you could see how upset Shawcross was which showed there was no malice or intent involved IMO, then you have whingy Wenger going on like there is some sort of witch hunt against Arsenal because they have had 3 players have nasty broken legs in 5 years

Yeah motd just showed slow motions etc, maybe a yellow card at most. Ramsey is just too quick and nicks it away, Shawcross kicks his leg with his laces and Ramseys studs are stuck in the ground and his leg snaps.

If his ban is extended then its a joke, if anything should be rescinded as the referee simply sent him off because of the state of his leg.

It wasn't even a yellow card never mind a red. Ramsey's studs were planyed in soft ground and Shawcross missed the ball and no more.

Have I really just heard someone say on Sky's football first "my thoughts go out to him and his family"

Jesus the lad has only broken his leg, I broke my leg like that when I was 14 playing for the school I had my mates round the hospital bed the same night signing my pot. Get some perspective we have kids the same age dying in the Middle East just trying to do a job.

Premiership hyperbole at it's very worst.

Why is Sol Campbell screaming at the ref? I've watched the tackle several times from a few different angles and not once did the referee get close to breaking the lads leg.

My thoughts are very much with the lad (and his family).

That picture clearly proves the referee is at fault.

Mistimed nothing more except really unlucky.

As other's say Shawcross may well have got a yellow for it being mistimed if Ramsay doesn't break his leg.

If it had been other way round and a Stoke player's leg had been broke, what the betting on a Wenger quote of

"I didn't see it"

I'll offer 1/100.

And yes there are worse things happening to lads his same age, so saying I feel sorry for him and his family shows what this world has come to.

Ramsay probably earns more in a year than some families will receive from the government when their son/daughter/husband/wife/father/mother is being drove through Wooton Bassett, in a cortege.

It was a horrific injury but it was not a malicious tackle. Shawcross was in tears afterwards. Sky report that the operation on Ramsay has been successful but will miss the rest of the season (I think that was a given).

Typical Wenger afterwards. His comments weren't as bad as when Matt Taylor caught Eduardo but he was more or less saying it always seems to be his players that get it.
