not sure if this has been posted about before but I took the family to see Avatar at The O2 today and I thought it was fanfookingtastic, the effects were just amazing.

If anyone was thinking about going, I'd strongly recommend it whilst its still doing the flix circuit. :coool:

I thought the story was quite good, easy to follow considering I expected a few special effects and nothing else.
Worth going to see.

I'll try to give a quick summary but I doubt i'll make it sound appealing bbolt
Basically, humans have killed planet earth and find another planet (Pandoro) that has a mineral that is worth $20m for a half kilo and being the greedy gets we are, we want this mineral but unfortunately, an indigenous tribe (avatar) lives where the mineral is located and so the humans try to force the local tribe out. The planet is very hostile (plants, wildlife and the natives or so the humans think) and the humans develop a way of cloning the avatar people in order to get close and persuade them to leave.

Okay its a sci-fi which is not everyone's 'cup of tea', but the effects are really amazing and the key message that is being given is that we will eventually kill our planet and will need to get our resources from 'other worlds' in the future and you just do not know what is out there friend or foe................

Accompanied Mr Lightning Tree along with our 10 year old girls & thought it was 3 hours very well spent.
Good film and great effects & the added bonus of AnnaLucia from Lost
