Originally The Bunker was formed out of us being booted off another board for being too non-PC. Now a few years later we have a broader membership.

I think we should have representative moderators, then the problem would solve itself.
I understand why the board was formed, and therefore the way the original members want the board to go. But if they want the rest of us to post, they have to accommodate us, or we will all sod orf.

in between meaning we still have the essence of the bunker but slightly watered down....

Compo mate, you need to read my answer to Grabec's post on the subject of Woody in the Alexander McQueen thread. Further to what I said there, I also say that we got on fine with the select few Leeds fans who we made contact with three years ago, but the newer posters took their chance to piss all over that relationship. It was even said that we were the best fans Leeds had met in this divison when they first came down on their board. Now all that's in shreds and it wasn't the originals who did that. We also have no Walsall posters any more and neither was that the old guard's fault.

sometimes but not very often things can get carried away so some sort of moderation is needed but not too heavy handed UNLESS its away fans then ban the bastads straight away

I have voted to keep things as they are but respectfully request two things.
1. Respect other people's opinion.
2. If we are going to say what we like then that has to include everyone.

On top of that and a slight diversification but relevant nevertheless.

I don't think it is fair of any of us to expect one man to fund the site.
Therefore I would propose a levy to be paid annually to be a fully paid up member of the board
Each member who is in compliance is allocated one vote to appoint the moderators.
This is done annually/ bi annually or whatever is agreed
I would propose someone like Mr I as chairman plus four moderators ( or six if preferable), then should there be a tie in voting, the chairman would have the casting vote.

Aye but that was now't to do with homophobic/racist/golfist/environmentalist statements, it was a threat of a libel action for slagging someone in the media off.

True, but the difference then was that it was on a national network. They can't close this down because its entirely autonomous. Besides, if we were had up for libel, I've got some pretty heavyweight contacts in the national media (check facebook)and we could really make someone look silly. Funny enough I've been gagging for a threat from Iain Wright.

It's not fair for 1 person or a small minority to fund the site so i'm all for a membership fee, no problem

i voted for somewhere inbetween, im not too bothered about a bit of non pc but some of the stuff on here really does make the people who are 12 and jumping up and down in class at school saying naughty words to get attention, it gets abit tedious when theres a topic or 2 a week with that type of stuff, go on the bnp forums if thats what you want to type. it also stinks abit when youve got the moderaters posting this stuff and pissing about with certain members psot because they just dont like them.
i think creating an extra subforum could help a lot keeping the main one but having it as only pools related then an off topic section where people can to a certain extent post what they want

well that was me doing the editing, and it wasn't because i didn't like someone it was because i thought it was funny.
It was pointed out to me that it wasn't appreciated so i packed in doing it and banned myself.....

We all make mistakes and I think the mods are pretty fair in that when they/we do we ban ourselves and we let a lot of other posters get off extremely lightly.
Some see that point others dont and use it to beat the mods over the head with.

I make no secret of the fact that OO does my head in, and when he repeats his little catchphrases over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and [you get the picture]......then I take it into my head to alter those words in the swear filter.
I make no apologies for that.
But his rarfery gets a sympathy vote, whereas I would see it as a banning offense.


Anyways, I think we as mods do an ok job, it especially is a thankless task for Mr.I and we just try to lighten his load a litle bit - and inevitably get things wrong from time to time.
But I will say this as a final point and it isn't directed at anyone its just words, if you dont like it or think you can do better then set up your own forum. If you cant be bothered with the chew and still dont like the bunker then use A.N.other forum.
Simples.

i would agree with that i was an admin on a forum for about 3 years and you never get any thanks for it and as soon as the tiniest thing goes wrong its a huge drama but thats just the internet i guess. unless youve actually done the mod stuff its hard to apprecitate how much of a shitty job it can be a fair bit of the time

Read what I wrote I never accused you of being a racist at all, i said in my book its all the same. Shouting FACT doesn't make you right I'm afraid. As I've said elsewhere there was a reason for mentioning his sexuality relevant to the point that I was making. If you can't, or choose not to, see that then there's no point carrying on the discussion so therefore I won't.

You and a few others just saw a bandwagon and jumped on it, if that's what makes you happy then I'm pleased for you.

What makes something normal? The length of time it has happened or the number of people involved in it.
