I didn't know that if you get sent off in the Reserves, then it prevents you playing in League One.

That's a crazy rule, that.

If things happen in the Reserves, then surely punishments should only apply to being in the Reserves only.

I don't know, maybe I'm biased.

yeah but that would get complicated, say if James Brown on return from injury got sent off in a reserve match one week but the following week he was fit enough to play for the senior team, he then played all season regular for the first team.

If he went back into the reserves was then banned for 3 games, its a mine field as who would keep a record of all this?

The ban thing. It's because its a football game played under the FA's jurisdicton and they don't discriminate between first team, reserves, youth teams or anything. If you've earned a ban playing association football you're banned from all games.

Im pretty sure if the ban only counted for reserve games and you could play league games like normal then there would be about 10 sending offs a game.

When I went to the reserves a few weeks back I said exactly that about Clark. He got booked following 4 or 5 very OTT tackles, it looked like desperation/frustration and over eagerness all rolled into one. He then made a first team game a couple of weeks later and got sent off. After a goal was conceded he even had a very vocal spat with Richie Jones.

All of this isn't like Clark and there is no doubt that being stuck in the reserves is affecting him.
