Every time he got the ball he looked dangerous, taking the man on inside and out and trying to make something happen.

Not having a go and saying any one player should be dropped, but surely he must start next game.

but where will that leave the most sacred of cows?
We watch this space with baited breath

I looked and seen he is just 37 behind Wattie Moore - once those have been caught up (hopefully with 2 minute cameo sub appearances) then surely the team will be picked based on planning for the future?
Jones, Gamble, Rowell, Monkhouse plus one or two others who will have to prove their worth - the greater good of the team has to be the priority and the interests of one or two individuals has to be finally pushed to one side
The club has already lost a lot of fans in the past 18 months and they have to get it right on the pitch and be competitive once more.
It sounds like that's exactly what we were when Jones appeared
Come on Turner, start getting the fans onside again and do what's right for the team

Collins was my man of the match today, did a good job on Beckford first half, and was solid all game. Well happy with a point, just disappointed Monky didnt bury that excellent move in the second half.
Some of the passing today was crisp and accurate, which it has to be at this level, just hope we can carry that on for the rest of the season.

jones easily mom, he changed the game when he came on, maybe give tubby some credit for it? taking humphreys off.

can i also say, that joe gamble is really impressing, seems to get better and better with every game. fought and scrapped for everything, and can certainly pop the ball around.

if only boyd could get the rest of his game in order, he had two chances, put one away with a great finish, credit where its due. and forced one hell of a save from their gk!

I am. Sorry to Humphreys but he's just not cutting it in the middle of the field. I hope today's evidence finally opens Turners eyes. We were a completely different team after the substitution.

Thought Boydy had a good game today, his lay-off play was excellent. We all know he cant head a ball for toffee, but he's never been good in that department, you have to play it into him at feet or chest height.... full stop.
Let's not knock Hump's too much, he was as disappointed today as much as anyone with his display, you just had to look at his face to see that. I noticed he was beating himself up on the pitch with some of his loose passing. It's not as if he was'nt trying.

totally agree Chip, I've said all season that centre midfield has been the root of our problems... we finally bring in a decent defensive-minded midfielder and Turner plays Humphreys alongside him - it's unbelievable. I don't blame Humphreys at all, but it's never been his position - there are probably half a dozen players in the squad I'd play in that role ahead of him.

I dont blame him either. He tries 100% but he cant help being shite. Its Turners fault for playing him. He was embarrassingly bad today and is turning into a joke player which seems a bit unfair given how long he has been here. He will end up remembered for all the wrong reasons.

Within fives minutes of entering the field today Jones made Turner look like a clueless tit.

He'd already beat men, had two good efforts and changed the game.

You worry when the manager thinks Sweeney, Larkin, and Humphreys are better footballers.

i'm pretty sure he doesn't think they are better footballers......maybe it's Jones' attitude?

indeed, but he doesn't always play like that.

Maybe it was the fact that he spent many years at Man Utd, playing against their 'enemy' got him totally up for the game?

Jones was the best player of the pitch yesterday, i think the Leeds fans would concur as well.

He has actually got pace which makes a huge difference. Leeds just shat themselves when he come on and our whole team started to play. I have slagged off sweeney aswell as Humphries but must say I think we would be better off playing Sweeney and Jones and dropping Ritchie. If Turner does not start doing this then it then he simply must go.

there's a general consensus here about the midfield which I hope is noted by the people at HUFC - the fans are not going to be taken for mugs any more!!!! They'll come back in droves if the right team is picked!!
Boyd must play
Jones must play
Brown must play when fit

It's simple - pick the BEST players available

Austin Collins Liddle Hartley
Brown Gamble Jones Monkhouse
Behan Boyd

That's the team for me that will keep us up, but I still think we should get Daniel Nardiello back onloan incase Boyd or more likely Brown gets injured. If either happens we are goosed. I know Sweens scored but Jones is just a better alround player, and Sweens has scored 2 in his last 30 odd appearences. I know it won't happen but Tommy Miller is not too chuffed at Wednesday and he lives in Wynyard near a mate of mine who says he would love to come back to Pools, now that would be good.......but it won't happen

Its a foooking disgrace that Jones doesn't start.
If Jones had started yesterday we might just might have won the game.
Also his father is his agent.
And he'snot happy at all with the way he's being treat.
Goodbye to Jones at the end of the season.
Thats what happens when your personality clashes with turner.
Just like at the beginning of the season when Austin couldn't get a look in.

I've been saying it for months now - the interests of the very few are being catered for, at the expense of the good of the team - and it's pissing off a lot of people.
When things are done properly and certain people are put in their place then the club will go forward again

The rights and wrongs of what's gone before WILL be forgotten when Turner stops being a prick
He showed some signs of putting it right yesterday
Whether he has the balls to continue to do what is right is another matter.
