Not going to see the B 52's live, I love em, has anyone seen them in concert and are they as good as on the internet portrays. Planet Claire, Give Me Back My Man, Private Idaho, Party out of Bounds, Rock Lobster all class tracks I think.

They were "OK"...I actually hate "Rock Lobster"...another one of those crap songs that a band gets remembered for when they had many, many better ones...Island had about four separate goes at turning it into a hit before succeeding!

On the same lines, I have always been a big fan of the Strawbs, but always hated the song they're probably best known for Part Of The Union. banghead

I love the B 52's, saw them a long time ago, a spectacular show although they had several other musicians providing the music. I agree with EAD as I think Rock Lobster is dire. My favourite album of theirs is 'Bouncing off the Satellites'. This was recorded after guitarist Ricky Wilson died from an HIV related illness, he was the brother of Cindy Wilson, one of the singers with the band. It proved that they could do serious as well as fun.
They're still touring, albeit in America.

The mention of 'Voice of the Beehive' should get Mr Spender to comment, when he reads this.
