Anyone clever with alarm systems?

I want to replace the keypad on an alarm at home. Can I just do a like for like swap or is there more to it than that?

Sussex will probably know how to deactivate them.

it should be a straight forward swap as long as you get the wires right.
expect the alarm to sound until you key the code in
