Any fans on here? Or of New Order?

I wasn't, and I hated all that "Mad-chester" crap which followed but I watched the film "Control" about the life of Ian Curtis the other night. It didn't change my opinion of things. To see anyone with a mental illness is distressing, IMO the music was crap and Tony Wilson was a c*nt. I know a couple of people who were ripped off by him, I sure Mr Elvis does too.

The film itself is very good.

I saw the film and it was quite good but already knowing about Curtis' life (and death) it didn't tell me anything I didn't already know about him.

I like joy division, seen the film thought the lad that played Curtis played a good part.

I loved the band (Joy Division), the film 'Control' & the book 'Touching from a Distance'. The band always came across as doom laden in real life, yet apparently Ian Curtis had a good sense of humour. For me the most atmospheric band ever, well reflected in the film.

I like them, remember seeing them perform live on "The old grey whistle test" years ago, particularly the track "She's lost control", which is one of my faves. Sticks in my memory as Curtis was off his head when he sang it. The films a bit slow, but is meant to be fairly accurate.
