And I came to the conclusion that there's not a lot of difference between 2 quotes by different Pools manager's.

Turner (January 2009) after a 5-0 home defeat to MK Dons says

"Sometimes you get let down and I got let down on Saturday"

Another Pools Manager said on April 30th 2005 after a 3-1 home defeat to Walsall

"Defeats like that get managers sacked"

By 4th May 2005 ( 5 days later) the Manager who said those fateful words, had in deed been sacked. That manager was Neale Cooper with Pools sat 5th in League 1, and to go on to the play-off final.

Now to me , although the quotes are different, they say the same thing.

Can we expect the same outcome??????????????????

You would have thought so but, if what Pools fans reckon about Cooper being sacked for off field stuff, then maybe it wont!

I'm probably gonna go against the grain here, but I don't want Turner to be sacked as Director of Sport.

I do however want us to get a team manager and assistant brought in who have total control over team matters, with the DoS solely involved with club and not team affairs.

I think its a role that suits him and i agree in a way that i wouldnt mind him staying in it but would you want to come here and be in charge with him pissing about in the background? Plus wasnt he often on the bench under Wilson or am i imagining that?

Personally I think the club needs a total fresh start and that means get CT out of here and take the losing and small club mentality that he has instilled with him.

I actually believe that, that statement is not against the grain. I think most realise Turner can be good in a DOS position, working with IOR/Hodcroft on budget for player's etc and the buying of the ground. Most just think he's now out of his depth as a manager.

I've always said it and i'll stand by it, i dont think any football club needs a director of sport.

If we want someone to help us secure the purchase of the ground, then employ someone in that line of work to help with that.

A new manager taking over this club needs full control over the playing side of things and should get to pick his own backroom staff.

Would the board at man u appoint a director of sport at old trafford? doubtful.

Why do we need one when 91 other league clubs operate just fine without one.

Waste of a wage, jobsworth position invented for people who wanna be involved in football from a far without all the pressures that come with it.

the man came crawling back to Pools because he knew it was the only place daft enough to give him another job in football. He would not get a job ANYWHERE else, not even Darlo would have him and West.
He should have gone into part time scouting and/or took a career change after Stockport.
Sadly for us we have got him!!!!!
Absolute disaster waiting to happen!!!
I don't think Pools will win more than 5 more games this season if he stays in charge!!!!

5 wins =15pts so 6 /7 draws from 16 games should make us safe.

5 games at most - I think it might only be 3 and maybe 5 draws = not safe!!!!!!
