.. after 40 years of watching Pools on a regular basis and always excited by the prospect of going, even during the dire years, the feeling has gone.
I never thought 'financial security' would be part of the problem, but we have a smug, self satisified club that appears to respond to a crisis like a supertanker responds to the helm... you can see the rocks but carry on.
if you care, you take action to put things right, there's no passion. The seasons come and go, everything is tidy and in its place, no rush, there's always next year, always time to nurture a manager beyond their capabilty, a desire free zone where football is organised in much the same way a production company organises its output forecast for the years ... it's boring, indifferent and in 'safe hands' and I've had enough.
