Opening African Cup of nations game.
Angola 4-0 on 78 mins and managed to finish 4-4.

Shocking defending.

What an incredible game that was !!!

How on earth did Angola let Mali back after being FOUR goals down and the game being killed off?

Surely common sense would have told Angola to defend to see the last 11 minutes out, but they just let Mali back into the game.

The first half, I thought Mali had been watching West Brom on Friday night after, West Brom had given the ball away cheaply and kept making inaccurate passes that went out.

Angola's first goal came out of nowhere because the game looked quite even at that time and then Mali's performance deteriorated. By the time Angola scored the penalty put them 3-0 up, I thought it was actually a fair scoreline as Mali's performance hadn't improved.

And then suddenly Mali get a corner 10 minutes, their keeper makes a horrendous mistake, a good old fashioned scramble leads to an easy tap in.

At this moment you think: 4-1 - Surely Angola will protect their lead and see the game out.

Then a great Mali cross from the wing gives Kanoute a sublime header to make it 4-2.

Now, you were more worried for Angola, but had to reassure yourself that they couldn't be that stupid to throw a 4-0 lead away in the first game of a tournament their hosting.

And then two goals within the space of a minute deep in second half injury time just stunned me. I couldn't believe that Angola had managed to actually throw a 4 goal lead away.

If Mali were West Brom against Forest, then Angola were Peterborough against Cardiff City.

And they say these ACN games are usually low-scoring games.

In the end, it was simply the most amazing game of African football I have ever seen.

If that's the first game of the tournament, I might keep watching tomorrow.

Bu there's no other way to describe it. The game should have been finished as a contest when Angola were 4-0 up.

You could almost say they want shooting for letting that lead slip.

Apparently when Angola got to 4 up they rang C.T to ask how to close the game off.

4-0 is the hardest lead in football.

Oh foookin hell is it that time again, where all of the politically correct start having a wank over african football, telling us all how great it would be for world s o cc er for an african nation to win the world cup, and how they are getting closer every tournament.

And that we should all enjoy the great talent on show, and how we should all watch every game, even though most of us couldnt give two fooks.

We go through this sham every two fookin years.

Well welcome to the board with your african cup of nations.

Who do pools play next?

It's a fookin god awful tournament, the standard of football is awful, no one can defend, no keeper can catch, the fans are idiots.

You'll get marcel desailly putting on his best african accent.

Sepp Blatter and Pele will tell us how the standard has improved.

Which idiot organises this tournament in january?

I can normally watch any footy, i've been watching the italians on espn all weekend, but i just cant watch this, it's pathetic.

No it's called annoying, very annoying, i'm not alone in this, i read about on your favourite website about banning them from the world cup.

It's just a horn, non stop, for 90 mins, thats not atmosphere.

Stick your horns and your africa cup up your arses.

I suppose it's only pointless to us because we don't live in Africa. Obviously, if we did, it would mean as much to us as a European country winning the European Championships.

A european club winning the champions league means nothing to me.

I gather from the majority of posts that the viewing figures for this tournament wont be through the roof then.

I caught about the last five minutes of the Algeria game earlier, big stadium about 43 people watching. Even the people of Angola can't be arsed with it!
