Why these days are so many transfer fees shrouded in secrecy? Is it to do with agents fees or do clubs not want to let the admission paying fans know how much money is being thrown around, or is it another reason? It's not that long ago when virtually every transfer fee was in the public domain.
Just curious.

In some cases an undisclosed fee could include payments made to the player for wages due under his old contract with previous club. For example if a player doesn't put in a transfer request, he could be due "loyalty bonus", (unpaid wages)

By divulging this it may be against data protection, I'm not 100% certain of how "loyalty bonuses" work but that may be some form of explanation.

So if the fee is for argument sake £5 million, 1 million may be getting paid to the player from the "buying club"( yes and possibly a signing on fee) so the selling club gets £4 million, so between them they say undisclosed.

I'm happy to be put right.

Hope the twat ends up in the conference as thats all he will get unless his form has picked up being "out of form for 3 years" or whatever trash the judas waste of space went on about.

I can understand that, but surely that's always been the case, so is it more a case of the Data Protection Act stopping us from being told the fees do you reckon?

I have a horrible feeling that Nelson is well liked by the club heirarchy and it wouldn't surprise me if he came back at some point. Personally I never want that twat to play for HUFC ever again - I would be steaming if he ever came back here.
