Given the current state of affairs on the pitch, does anyone think that putting the run on hold to allow us to take a drubbing from Chelsea would have furthered our promotion hopes?

Or does someone actually believe we'd have a chance of beating them?

At the time I was well miffed - hearing Chelsea come out the hat when it could have been against us.
Right now I couldnt give a toss- honest. Good luck to Macc but I'm past it now. In fact I even like to think that defeat, combined with the disappointment of hearing the draw afterwards, helped to concentrate our efforts on the push up the league.
As for actually having the chance to beat them?
Well, fame would have been achieved by holding them for an hour and I'd have been very happy with that. Probably had a one to three percent chance of winning. Might have been a nice chance for Nelson or Dimi to make a name for themselves but never mind, I'd rather keep hold of them for now.
Shrewsbury and MK Dons - thats what I care about. Sod the cup.

even for the foruth tier of football the old 3 points in the league is better than a cup trip to Chelski.

Good luck to Macc - Chelski have reduced match prices from £48 to £20 and it is a sell out.

With the exception of both Brentford games 2 years ago The magic of the cup died with a 0-1 defeat at Bramall Lane in 1993!
