Set off from home (Richmond) to get to Pools at 1.30pm in my new toy. A beautiful, beautiful Mazda MX6 2.5 V6. Made it as far as Darlington and then - as it was a blizzard - said bollox to it and set off back.

At 3.40pm having crawled back at 20 mph 3 miles from home I went over a bank to be faced with a stopped Darlington Taxi. I tapped the break, tried to steer both left and right, and then hit the back of the fucking taxi. this smashed up the front end of my beautiful, high-powered, £700 insurance excess car.

I then picked up the pieces of my beloved motor that were strewn over the road and drove back home at 5mph. 35 minutes later I arrived at the cobbled square on which I live tried to stop and in one of the slowest crashes in history skidded into the back of a nissan owned by a neighbour.

17 accident free years since EAD's dad looked at me in disbelief when I told him I'd passed my test at the first attempt. And then two bumps in an hour and my beautiful car is dead.

Shit, thats rotten luck. Like was said above, its only a lump of metal but im sure if I crashed my beloved motor I would be gutted.

I too had to turn back today....got home parked up - no bumps! then the wife says i have to take my daughters friend home to loftus!! her dads epileptic and cant drive. ok says I, why cant the lass just stop over??- her dad has recently lost his wife and wants his daughter home....ok...so off I attempt to set....half an hour of skidding about our street and a few trips to the grit bin and we're off!!

takes about an hour and a half to get to loftus which is about 5 miles away....drop off lasso, get stuck in snow. dibble texts to say we've won.....I'm stuck in fucking loftus........half an hour later and a few trips to the grit bin and we're off......you get the picture!!!
