I was going to say that. I remember Martin Rowlands being just awesome.

I remember Plymouth being quite good at some point too ...(?)

Agree completely with QPR as the best team we played, but the officials in the game down there. Jesus - what a squad of Homers.

In boxing they say that in Germany you have to knock out the opponent just to get a draw. Well that was what it was like.

There reached a point in the second half where on the last seven or eight occasions that we crossed the halfway line we had instantly been given offside. Then the ball came free and a forward chased after it (I believe it was Williams) and BEFORE he crossed the halfway line he was given offside. I've never seen anything like it. They had to bring the ball backwards over the halfway line to take the kick.

Kevin Gallen was awesome. A beast of a forward, even at that age.

QPR were pretty good that day! It's amazing to think who we have played over the years and look where they are now.................
Higher.............Wolves, Bolton, Fulham, Portsmouth, Stoke, Birmingham, Coventry, Sheff Wed and United and so many other 'big' clubs and so on and so on...
Lower.................Barrow, Newport, Workington, Southport, Maidstone, Boston, Luton, Rushden, DARLINGTON and so on and so on

Despite everything, It's great to be a Pools supporter clappp

I'd agree with QPR, they were awesome. A close second would be Plymouth, They had already been promoted and they seemed to coast to the 3-1 Victory against us.

I'd also put Donny up there, they always played good Football against us at The Vic. Yet somehow we still managed to beat them quite regularly.
