I used to read WSC and get wound up to kick racism out of football and I'd confront 'fans' singing racist songs.
now i dont

I used to get irate at ill treatment of football fans at games I went to, and would try to do summat about it.
now I dont.

I admire Daniel Gaunt for his attitude and for having a go at Leeds stewards treatment of our supporters today [as futile as I fear it will be], but I wonder.....what changed in me that I'm now so apathetic?!

meh

perhaps theres too much booze in my belly to have any room for the fire, or maybe the drink has put it out.

it's the realisation that as you get older, whatever you do or say will make no difference to what goes on in any walk of life which is outside your control- and eventually you have to think of things on a smaller scale (yourself and your nearest and dearest and what goes on in your own house and your mates and stuff)
If it's any consolation, I'm getting very much that way inclined meself

I think most of us are getting that way inclined.
The next stage is when you open your mouth to say something and nothing comes out. Not even to your mates and nearest and dearest.
Depressing, Christmas, innit?
