Surely to 'take over' you have to have one already in place?!

The Mail read as if we would only sign Gamble as a last resort if Healy wouldnt come. Be nice to have both, did they play together much?

I have just looked on the Mail site and the top story is one about potential signings for Man City! WTF !!!

On the Gamble story they are both saying the same thing; the Echo says he will sign on Jan 1st, the Mail says its not quite a done deal. Wheres the difference?

It's supposed to be a Hartlepool paper. Surely the headline football story should not be about Man City with Hartlepool United stuff in a sub section.

I'll second that.
Healey will be on a good whack at Ipswich and he's hardly going to take a big paycut to come here.
He's hardly been pulling up trees at Ipswich has he.
I'd much rather we sign Gamble.
From reports i've read he could be just what we need.

If you get a player on loan isnt there a potential to just pay a percentage of his wages? or has champ manager been lying to me all these years

Even if we have to pay 50% of his wages its still going to be around £2000 a week and with Gamble's wages on top i dont think Pools would pay that what with the low crowds we are getting

We could always see if we could get another team to contribute 50% of one of the players Gamble will be replacing.....

Great idea. I'm sure we could lend an experienced midfielder / defender out to our neighbours for example.

Just found this on a Leeds forum. Looks like Gamble will sign for us in January only if a Championship club don't come in for him.

If this is true, and he only wants to come here if a championship club doesnt come in for him, id tell him to do one and welcome to the board, obviously his heart wouldnt be here when playing for us

makes sense, the bloke thinks he can play in the Championship and wants to play there, if someone comes in for him great, if not, then League 1 will have to do.

Nowt wrong with having a bit of ambition, these are the types of players we want at Pools. They are better than having players who are happy to be a bit part player in an average team.

We have to accept that there are very few people in the world that would actually play for HUFC even if a better offer came from elsewhere.

He's only human and I would do exactly the same. As long as he does the business when he is here then I'm OK with that.

But surely if he's as good as he thinks he is....ie.Championship standard....surely he'd be playing there anyway!!!! confised

Just pisses me off....Pools show interest so he more or less says....I'll sign for Pools unless some BIGGER Club comes in for me!!!! confised rage

He should be fecking grateful that an English League Club is willing to give him a chance in the League!!!!

Sure he should be grateful, and he probably is but that doesn't mean he should try and get himself the best possible deal for himself and family. I'd also be interested to see his actually quote before I judge him.

I'd be surprised if he was Championship class, it seems there is little between him and Healy and we all know how Healy has failed miserably at one of the divisions poorest sides.
