Right, it's almost that time of year, and I don't know about youse but one of my favourite Festive Treats is to buy a shedload of cheese for the duration.

Any recommendations?

Brie and Cheshire compliment each other exquisitely, especially with a nice bottle of Chianti.

Camembert that is a week past the use by date.

Left to warm for a couple of hours to get to room temperature.

With M&S black olive crackers.

I'm salivating just thinking about it.

Only five cheeses are labelled necessary in our house:
Cambozola
Goats Cheese
(these first two are surely the greatest ever)
something rubbery such as emmental
parmesan (for pasta)
and cheddar for the kids...

I like eating cheese on biscuits with a glass of orange juice. The tastes completely contradict each other and don't work but I love them together.

And Red Leicester for Toasties (Under the Grill, not 'brevilled')

oh,now you're talking - as a veggie i take my cheese a little too seriously - my tips for a top cheesboard

grandma singletons lancashire - http://www.singletons.uk.com/cheese_14.php - a serious motha fooka of a cheddar - similar to doing pure coke for the first time when compared to 'street cheddar'

dolcelatte - oh aye

a nice bit of paxton and whitfields smoked - http://www.paxtonandwhitfield.co.uk/pro ... -200g.html - smoky delight

mature scottish cheddar with caramlised onion - http://www.taste-of-arran.co.uk/item.asp?itemid=296 - sweet

5 counties - http://www.ilchester.co.uk/fivecounties.htm - something for everyone

royal windsor - red windsor and stilton - surely not i hear you say - but oh yes - stunning - http://www.somerdale.co.uk/lcdsavoury.h ... %20Windsor

and a nice brie -with a different flavour - http://www.pongcheese.co.uk/shop/blue-c ... ganic.html

pong is a cool site actually for those wanting some cheese - something different

Oh aye, the cheese here is shite, just fatty mild cheddar, but occasionally some visitor from the UK will bring me some Cathedral Extra Mature Cheddar and I could bathe in it. Last time I got 1.2KG and it's just drawing to an end after 3 months but we have more visitors in a week or so, so I should last out. clappp clappp

I had a cheese and bean toastie yesterday, thanks to Mr Bresslaw, and it was lush.
