Hot Club de Paris?

Do you know them like?

I've got a cd of theirs that I've nearly worn out it's that good. Can't find owt else from them apart from a live cd like, although that's on my Christmas list.

They've just been re-signed with Moshi Moshi to do two ep's and a CD and are touring at the moment. I'm hoping they're going to do a gig in Hartlepool, it's been mentioned but nothing definite yet.

The singer/bassist is my nephew, Frodraff's youngest. The Live At Dead Lake album isn't in fact live. It was recorded at a studio in Chicago, it's all different stuff to the first album. I gather their third is about due as well.

not on the same planet talent wise as sigur ros for me like. this was my televisual musical highlight of this or any other decade :

The music on that piece is superb...wasn't too hot on the vocals though.
Haunting music that would be a super backdrop for a dramatic occurrence or a sequence showing stunning scenery.
A lot of musical talent in evidence.

Chip, The Last of The Melting Snow is simply superb. Really sad story about how it came about too.

For me it's too hard to nail down but I love this...

Nicked this from The Guardian...

He described yesterday how he wrote the song in a melancholy moment, having run into his ex-girlfriend.

"I went home for Christmas to Burton and I bumped into my ex who I was with for about eight years – I moved to London because we split up," he said.

"She invited me back to her house, and I thought we were going to get back together, but instead she had invited me round to tell me about her new boyfriend."

To escape, he went to London immediately but all of his friends were out of town, so as revellers celebrated the new year he sat inside drinking and writing about the end of his relationship

She was moving to America with her new bloke (which is in the song).

If you haven't got the album Mutley, it's well worth getting. You can get it on Amazon for £7.48 and theres a free mini album which has this song on it too...

Also, Nick Hemming did the music for Dead Mans Shoes and A Room For Romeo Brass and he used to be in a band with Paddy Considine and Shane Meadows.

I was a bit confused to wether it was a man or woman

I was amazed when i heard last request by Paulo Nuntini singing live on Jools Holland if any body could put it on thanks

Well, you take it all so easy
Gonna lay it on my friends
Gonna lay it all on down now baby
Do it all again
I can just hold my time up
lay it against the wall
I can't just hold my tongue
I could for-fuckin'-get it all
I'm gonna lay my soul out
and then I'm gonna lay it all on you

Well you might not crave it all but you can learn from your mistakes
And the little heart of Jesus Christ's gonna lay it all to waste
It's a bitter pill to swallow
But I'll fuckin' neck 'em all
The further you go up now baby
The further you can fall
I'm gonna take my soul out and lay it back, oh babe, again, again

Well you may not be good looking but you haven't got no faith
Sometimes I get a mouthful when I only want a taste
Sometimes you kick the devil out but angels smash your face
You can lay the law out baby but I don't think I'll behave
I'm gonna lay my soul out and then I'm gonna take it out again
I'm gonna lay my soul out and then I'm going down, again, again
