I watched the game from the Carlisle family enclosure as my nephew is a season ticket holder living five minutes from Brunton Park. I therefore was able to gauge what home supporters thought of our performance and their own, of course. We were the best side until they equalised, I thought Bjornsonn looked useful, held the ball up ok but lacks pace. The home fans were impressed with our passing game and Collins and Liddle. For me Austin and Hartley did ok and were solid. the central midfield had a collective off day and Carlisle dominated in that area, I thought Ben Clark made more impact in the 25 minutes he was on than Tony and Ritchie did in the rest of the match. Monkhouse was our main danger man and McSweeney rather anonymous. Boydy looks totally disinterested and last night kept getting caught in possession. Having praised Flinders most of this season, I thought he had a night to forget last night. He seems to have taken to trying to punch every cross, for the most part without success and this gifted Harte the equaliser, he was certainly at fault with the mattress goal, beaten by a far post cross from thirty yards. All in all a poor night not helped by having to keep quiet and sit on my hands when we did score. I thought the alleged penalty was ball to hand and significantly not one Pool player nor Turner appealed.
