everyone who after a couple of losses to sides who lets face it will are 2 of the striongest sides in the league gets on Turners back and says he is not right man etc is a joke.

We do not have the budget that a lot of teams in this league have hence the reason why we are not going to have the quality that these sides have got, at the end of the day Hartlepool are sitting 12th in league 1 after 18 games and only 6 points off play off spot.the top 5 sides will all have over double the wage bills that we have which means they can attract better players and have stronger squads with more quality on offer. We are one of the smaller clubs in the division and are sitting 12th after 18 games. i dont see a problem at all.

We need to start posting some positive things rather than everything negative and get behind turner and west for a change, this might in the long run help us and be like a 12th man come match days. instead we just slate everything he does and want different, we now have a settled back 5 which is looking solid, with 2 more signings (a holding midfielder and a striker that will score goals) i think it will help us no end.
But until results are consistantly bad and we are in a relegation battle then i think we should leave him alone and stop complaining about every little thing

Played 18
Won 6
Drawn 5
Lost 7
Scored 21
Conceded 22
Points 23

This after playing 7 of the top 8 sides already i dont think is too bad an outcome to be fair.

The fact is - Turner is our manager and will be for the season i think so lets get behind him.

Do you two even go to the games? You sound like the other "football fans" who were shocked when Wilson got the boot coz they thought he was a good manager without ever seeing us play.

We are in a false postion now. We won't be come May if things don't change soon!

I like the proviso that we get a midfielder and a striker, Mr 4eva. That tells me that even you have doubts about our current squad.
I assume you mean quality when you mention these two.
Having made a case out for decent players shunning us for these bigger clubs with bigger payrolls, can you tell me how we attract these necessary additions????

The football we are playing is so bad I can't be bothered to attend anymore, his substitutions like the one last night are baffling beyond belief, he has no tactical sense hence why we never have a plan B when we hit a problem, he was given probably the best summer budgets ever yet only Flinders and Austin are able to put in consistent performances and a lot of the rest of them don't even get on the pitch. Everything he touches turns to shite...so you can shove supporting him IMO

I'm sorry but the original poster I believe is in the minority and the overwhelming feeling from most fans is that Turner is, and has been for 6 years, a FAILURE as a manager

It's not just the 3,000 who go who are uninspired by it all, crucially it's the 2,000-3,000 who don't come anymore.

Er, excuse me, I went to plenty of games during the promotion season (2006/2007) and before Wilson got the sack, thank you. Maybe not all of them, but enough to know that at the time Wilson was a good manager and should not have been sacked when he did.

Admittedly the attendances are down but I'm sure part of the reason is the recession. It's not all down to the fact the football hasn't been entertaining of late.

The football hasn't been entertaining....

What about the first half against Leyton Orient, the first half against Huddersfield, the first half last night against Southampton ?

just because the first half's of these games have been entertaining, it doesn't mean that each game as a whole hasn't been dissapointing and left people wondering why they pay their hard earned cash each week to watch these "performances".

You come across as someone who believes everything they read in the papers!

If you'd seen every home performance this season like most of us on here have, then you would know that 95% of these performances have been woeful.

The stats tell a false story. We are lucky that we have picked up as many points away from home as we have coz it may mean us finishing just outside of the bottom four (the way we are currently playing).

If you had been to any home games, you would have seen the following...

baffling substitutions
players going through the motions
half a games worth of effort
heads going down when we concede
dwindling crowds
average teams walking away with points they should really not have got
not one penalty or geniune penalty claim
long balls pumped aimlessly upfield and into the box for our lightweight forward line to completely miss
possession given away too cheaply, thus inviting pressure onto the home team (us)
Opposition centre halves having a nice easy afternoon.

People are fed up of paying £20 per match (normally £40 a month, sometimes more) to get wound up and frustrated by stupid things like the above list. People won't pay it, hence the dwindling crowds.

I am certain you are a wind-up merchant and normally wouldn't reply to such a short sited post. You've caught me on a bad day!

jish you say we were lucky to pick up the points we have away from home? From the matches i have been to away and from the reports of people from here, we have fully deserved every single point we have got away from home. That hardly can be classed as lucky.

Yes, and I'm as annoyed about the fact that we can't seem to kill big Clubs off as well.

POK is clueless about football based on that last comment - you are banging your collective heads against the wall trying to convince him otherwise.
Pools should apply to join a league of 20 minutes each way, that way our 45 minutes will be good enough

No I didn't. I said we are lucky that we have picked up these points. Big difference. We might have deserved these points, we might not. I wasn't there so I didn't comment on it.

POK has said the first half of the Orient, Huddersfield and Southampton matches were good, yet I bet he wasn't in a 200 mile radius of the grounds for any of those games.

we might win at Southend given their problems, which might escalate before we play them - who knows? We might get a point at Carlisle as we have a good record there.
We will get zip at those other six though - I see the away form capitulating badly in those games!!! We MIGHT get a draw at Bristol
Definitely no points at Charlton, Leeds, Norwich, Southampton and Millwall. Definitely, unless a new manager comes in and shakes it all up.

PoK as a fellow exlile I will give you a tip, do you ever hearing me shout about games I am not at NO. I also dont make a point that gives the impression I was at the game setting my self up for a fall. Whenever i have an opinion about a player or an inncodent i havent seen for a while I always say "oh my dad said or my best mate" as I trust there opinion and we generally agree about fouls, players and performances when we see the whole game.

Please try and follow these rules and you will see people wont think your a numpty.

OK, that was a genuine mistake about mixing up the half. But the fact was we did play well in that game against Orient.

It's like why Turner said we played very well against Southampton last night. If we didn't, why would he say that?

It's the reason why he's in the job and we're not in management.

But that is turners' opinion which is 1 man's opinion.
Plenty on here have put their opinions forward by saying we didn't play well.

I don't think because he thought we played well is the reason he is in management.
I reckon there would be a handful of people on here who could (if given the chance) have a fair go at managing a team at pools' level (going by what these peoples opinions are about performances and tactics).

i think every single one of us on here would crash and burn if we were to be given the chance to manage Pools. All theoretical i know, although most of us would still be much better than Scotty was!
