Won 3-1. I said this at the match yesterday, Southampton are VERY beatable.

Your not allowed to say things like that Elvis. Southampton are one of the "BIG" clubs in the league, they only have to turn up to get the points.

"little" clubs like Pools have no right to think they can beat Southampton, they've been in Premiership, won the FA Cup, played in europe.

They one of the teams that Pools will automatically lose both games to, we just turn up and lay down for out BIGGER opponents.

Or that's what some think...... rolfl rolfl rolfl

Beating Nottingham Forest at home 3-2 a few years back was a good performance though I think we may have been already relegated by that point.

Doesn't make good reading, but I think we'll beat Southampton next week.
Our last eleven games were the pressure games and we did ok. The more fancied teams will come to the Vic and attack more, leaving gaps.
Lenny Lawrence left the Vic with the words " I'm glad we played you when we did because when this team gets going you will win more than you lose". How many league games have we lost since that game?

my only arguement (and its only a small argument) is that a lot of those games came when we had a relitavely small squad with only 3 recognised defenders and NO goalkeepers!

I think we are better equipped now to at least have more of a chance.

agree about the keepers and defence situations, definitely. Beckford's goal in that 2-0 defeat was inept defending yet again by Micky "Wank-er crap at football" Nelson, which put us out of the game. Also that old fossil at left back who basically surrendered one quarter of the field for an unopposed cross for their first goal. You can't go 2 down at places like that, no matter how well the side is playing going forward.
