This is the same man who closed his factory a couple of years back to move it to Asia so he could pay shite wages and make more money for himself resulting in hundreds if not thousands of job losses in this country!!!!

I really don't understand the reasoning that these gongs are given out. There are many jobs in the civil service which qualify the holder for a Knighthood almost by right for no other reason that that they go to work. Pop stars being honoured really annoy me, they get into music business for their own egos and arse pocket. Sportsmen and women ditto.

These honours should never be awarded for simply doing your job but for doing something above and beyond what is reasonably expected of you and never for doing something which financially benefits you personally.

Anyone who uses his or her celebrity to highlight a cause or raise funds for a charity ala Bob Geldof should be included of course but there are people who hold Knighthoods for doing nothing more that playing a guitar and getting very rich.

By the way, Mr Mad deserves one for services to Pools statistics and I should get a Lordship for services to the Bunker. Mind you, after recent downtimes maybe that should be downgraded to a CBE :wink:
