The famous Fleetwood Fog - last year. It was that bad, it should really have been abandoned at half time.

Best...

How about Runcorn 0, Pools 3 Joe Allon hat-trick? I think we got to Runcorn at about 11.30 and were pretty gassed by k.o. time. The geezer in the little pub kept sending large Stainless Steel bowls of home-made (by his Wife!) Chips over. Watched part of the game from the toilets!

Worst..

Macclesfield when the "Gibson Out" stuff was in full flow. Freezing, got beat, terrible ground and a shocking performance.

they would be my choices as well apart from the pub/chips which i missed out on.
the runcorn game was excellent and you could play spot the scouse who didnt want to pay on that flyover behind the home end

The best and the worst and both the same season 1985. We beat Macclesfield in first round, bit of a barny on the pitch, falling all over trying to run across the pitch knee high in mud, I think alan shoulder scored in a two nil win.
Worst was round 2 v Frickley got beat 1 0 at home.

I've enjoyed a few away days in the Cup to non league grounds, with the exception of Macc in 93/94 - although to be fair at the time none of us realised how good a side Macc actually were - considering they were at least 3 divisions below us at that time, within 5 years they were a division above us!!!

Best was probably Gainsborough away.

I still wake up screaming after dreaming about that Tamworth game.

Yep, Everton fans. We had to do a suicide rescue squad for some kid from Seaton who drank a half bottle of scotch and forgot to change ends at half time.

By the time we got there he was like a curtain of scouse spit. confised

The 2-1 away win at Darlo not long after we'd lost 4-0 (I know, I know but they will be next year I'm just getting in early)

Worst- Undoubtedly Macclesfield, cold, wet, and walloped. The highlight was a pitch invasion by a couple of blokes with a 'Gibson Out' banner.

I'm not but when you have 50 Everton fans looking to kick your head in some times its best to hit first and ask questions later.

Pools fans have history of throwing things on the pitch at cup games,

Boston first time around. table leg.
Scunny. flask.
Luton. bannanas.
Spurs. mars bars.
Crewe. a steward.

I have heard a few names trying to taking credit for the flask at Scunny.

The runcorn trip was decent, i was only about 12 at the time and it was my first away day with me mates on the supporters coach, i remember thinking how wide was that part of the mersey, it seemed to be like the sea to a young un! I remember loads watching from the fly over at the other end of the ground. I was cold at Fleetwood last year :!:

Surprised that no-one has mentioned this as the best ...

1984 - Pools 2 Derby 1 - cracking atmosphere. Came back from one down to equalise in the second half, they had a goal disallowed, then we bagged the winner (Kevin Dixon & Mark Taylor)

Worst - Definitely losing to Frickley 0-1 the year after.

Best Runcorn and Joe's hat-trick (You can see me clearly on the 90/91 season video after the 3rd goes in, the crowd just opens up with me going crazy :coool:

Worst probably Frickley at the time of the miners strike as I remember.

Worst FA cup memory must be Wigan away late 80's/early 90's when there were bad storms. I was sat on a train at Euston for 3 hours (with board member Ronaldo) but the train never left the station as power cables were down in the coventry area  I never did get to Springfield Park and as a footy ground anorak, am well and truely gutted sadx

Macclesfield Away - torture.

Talking to a bloke at work today, big tall bloke - turned out he played in goal for Tamworth 1st team twice - not when they beat us - but told him I resented it anyway!
He's a Villa fan but I think he might be turning - I'm working on it.

The worst for me was losing 1-0 at home to Frickley Athletic in the mid eighties----------now that was an inept performance. I never like playing NL oposition you're always on a hiding to nothing. Kettering are 6/1 with Corals to win at the Vic whilst Pools are 4-9. I wonder....................?

Don't remember Derby being a non-league club. Good game though. It was my first FA Cup match.
