Just been looking through the stats and noticed Behan season started in mid february for pre season training and played approx 20 games for Cork before joining us. He has played in 18 games for us so far a total of 38 games by the end of October without a break.
With another 31 league games to play he could play 70 cup and league games this season, a season that will last nearly 15 months :-o :-o . Will Turner have to rest him sometime?

if Browny is fully fit then it wouldn't surprise me to see Boyd & Brown up front for the FA cup 1st round.

Denis can have a nice rest.

i cant see turner even starting boyd to be honest never mind brown an behan i think we will see the like of Mcsweeney, rowell the iceman, larkin ect ect .
however that maybe a mistake as that is what it proved to be when we went out against grimsby but its all down to Turner. i also would not be suprised if freddy came in for monkhouse as he looked one of our better players in the reserves the other night.
we should still win kettering no matter the side we put out on the day but "should" is not we will, i will be bitterly dissapointed if we dont win on saturday!!!

No chance will we be playing our second team.

Behan had looked like he needs a rest after about 5 games for us.

There will be no more than 2 changes to the team (injury permitting) if Turner has any sense which thankfully I think he has  . Saturdays game is a big game for us, with an increased squad size a cup run would come in very useful.

I do think Denis Behan needs a rest but a game against a lower standard of opponent could also be what he needs to grab a goal and up his confidence. sctatchinghead

Hope Billy Greulich gets a chance, Possibly a second half appearance Vs Kettering, looks a good prospect.

Agreed. I think it would be too risky playing him form the start but if we can get a two goal cushion it would be great for him to get another appearance.

but is denis part of our best xi when everyone is fully fit?

I would prefer to try boyd and brown personally.

Not wanting to underestimate Kettering but maybe they would cope easier against behan than they would against tricky players like Boyd and Brown.

Maybe start with behan on the bench and give him a break?

I'm still not sure on him. For every good game he has he appears to have at least as many bad games. I'm yet to see him do anything of note and I don't think his partnership with Boydy is working particularly well.

i think he started the season very well, but that may have been due to the fitness advantage he had over everyone else.

he certainly doesnt look a 20+ goals a season type of striker, but then we knew that when he signed.

his last few games at the vic he has been poor and him and boydie havent complemented each other at all. but if brownie isnt fit then you have to look at what other options we actually have. larkin is injured and hasnt exactly set the world on fire when he has started, the iceman looks out of his depth even in reserve games, and greulich and tymon are pretty much untried at first team level.

personally id like to see tymon AND greulich on the bench at the very least, and given some game time. same goes for rowell, who id be tempted to start ahead of humps. these lads have to be given the chance to prove themselves at some point.

I'd love CT to have another Q&A session on the official site so I could ask him why the fuck Rowell isn't making the 18 every week. It just doesn't make sense to me at all, especially when central midfield has been an area where we have been struggling.

I have advocated Brownie playing upfront for ages. A team like us should be playing to our strengths and his goalscoring ability is one of those. It's a waste of a fantastic footballer out on the right wing, he can produces pieces of magic every game and they would be far more punishing in the oppositions penalty box than out on the flanks IMO.
