Probably old hat to some of you lot but a month ago someone gave me a copy of a cd thats one of the best I've heard in years.
Regina Spektor - Soviet Kitsch
Goes back to 2004. Since got the original and bought new album but Soviet Kitsch is the best, truly fantastic.
Superb lyrics, challenging, intelligent, eccentric and depth to them as well.
Same for the music.
As for Regina, well she's talented, gorgeous and totally barking...
I'm presuming she's the daughter of Phil - or is that with a C?
Did he kill himself? I know he shot his wife in the head or something?
One of her songs is called Carbon Monoxide and constantly refers to 'daddy'
Anyway, I really cant recommend this album enough and I cant stop playing it. Got tickets to see her at Northumbria Uni early next year.
