He made several saves but all were routine stuff. Had any of those efforts beaten him it would have been clear goalkeeping error. I counted one slight handling error which meant he didn't deal with one shot perfectly cleanly, but apart from that he was exemplary. He came for every cross within his range, and he punched/caught all of them. He must be giving so much confidence to Collins and Liddle at the moment.

I watched the saves on Pools world and he got down well considering he is a tall bloke. We are maybe just getting so familar to him playing well that his saves during that game were taken as 'givens'. I bet if ALB or Budtz did as well that game we would have made a big deal of it as we were not used to them saving anything.

I agree that Liddle and Collins must be loving it right now.

He had a very competent game which is why I scored him an 8 in my match ratings.

"Flinders - 8 - commanded his box, puched clear a couple of times and held onto everything Swindon fired at him. Good distribution."

However he didn't make any spectacular save, didn't claw anything out of the top corner etc. We should always try and compare him with a competent League 1 keeper not ALB or Butz.

Are you saying ALB and Budtz were not competent league 1 keepers. Shame on you

Agreed. Apart from a couple of his kicks which were fat too long he didn't put a foot wrong.

How Monky got in is the bigger surpise out of the two though.

I reckon he makes it look easy due to his positional sense and anticipation. That's half the battle for keepers apparently.

I had the Swindon commentary second half on Saturday and late in the game they said they thought he'd had a very impressive game without having to make any big saves, in other words everything that he had to do he did well.

I reckon they'd have been even more glowing had they ever seen his missus.
