I have Microsoft Office on my laptop and whenever I try to open Word or Excel it asks me for the product code, I then type in the code which is on the bottom of the laptop but it then says that the code is invalid. Anyone have any ideas

our lass has got it on her laptop but it is only a demo and can be used for a certain number of times,i thinkl you have to go online to register it if you have the product key or you have to go online and buy the program and then you get the key,i think thats how it works,also usually when you buy a laptop you only get a demo version,anyway if that is the case i think someone on here mentioned a free office program that is as good as microsoft's

The code you are typing in i am sure is the O/S Key (vista or xp) Unless you bought office you dont have a key.
You usually only get a 60 day trial with new computers
