Nice piece in the Hartlepool Mail tonight about him retiring well done John a Poolie through and through...... Now who's next for the job.....One thing I would like though is for it to be from the pitch like most other grounds and we can name the press box the 'John Orley Box'

indeed, i always think other announcers sound crap compared to John Orley, he will certainly be missed.

He was outstandingly dignified when he had to read out that speech the first game after Michael Maidens death, you could hear him fighting back the tears with every word.
