There comes along an away game you just had to be at to believe.

What a cracking opener from Browny - just like Gillingham, he turned the the defender on the edge of the box and fired into the corner. The second was a fluke - a shocker from their keeper who fluffed a cross into his own net when under no pressure. As for the the third, what a free kick. WHAT A FREE KICK! Only the net prevented serious injury in the stand. And top marks for Scott Flinders' extendable fingers - cracking save at the death to earn his clean sheet bonus.

It was for me!

I'd be interested to hear from someone behind the goal how close his second one was too.

The second wasn't a fluke, Monky skinned the full back and out over a good cross which McSweeney did well to get on the end of, the keeper should have done better yes but it was no fluke.

Def Hugh-esque, and the keeper should definetely have saved the 2nd. He didn't live up to his name, and it was the 'keeper we were supposedely chasing all summer, a certain Mr Brill

It was more Ronaldo than Huuuugh, he seems to have to ability to hit free kicks with his toe end and make then fizz and dip late just like the Portuguese winker.

Dennis is a better player, obviously, they just take similar free kicks.

I thought the Keeper caught it....and then it went in!!!! confised

It was like slow motion!!!!

Behan v Hugh....

Hugh by his own admission wasn't really a very good Footballer but had a helluva' shot on him!!!! :coool:

Behan to me has just has much shooting power as Hugh but also has a lot more to his game!!!! :coool:

This Bloke WILL become a Pools legend!!!! :coool: :coool: :coool:

BTW....Where's the Cork fans gone who were laughing when we got Behan but not the other one???? sctatchinghead sctatchinghead

i actually thought the second goal was an own goal by their keeper. it must have been in the back of the net for a good 5 seconds before anyone in the away end started celebrating, and even then it was only because we saw the players celebrating.

Haha yeah your right there Chip, I thought it was side netting, But the players peeling away showed it was in and then we all celebrated

Behan is a huge personality on and off the pitch. Maybe it's his Irish nature to show he's a fighter, and he's not going to bow down and be second best to his opponent no matter what. I can see this spurring the team on especially away from home. Porter had bags of ability but he didn't put any genuine fear into the opposition away from the Vic - I think this fella does that and it's a quantum leap in terms of the side growing a spine on away turf, where points are hard to come by in this division - and we're giving ourselves a great chance with a strong, mentally tough character like him
