A sad reminder, i'm afraid, of a town which doesn't give a flying fuck about its football club.

That is all there is to say. The end is nigh for them. sadx

By my maths Sussex, that's 3 times more than that pathetic turnout last night.

If you need to, just let me know, and i'll go through it with you slowly.

Or are you actually happy with the way things are heading at Darlo? Jeez...

Wow. Gate revenue of £8k!

I wonder how much the leccy bill was...and the Policing costs etc.
Hard to think of a club, even in the non-league set-up, looking so fragile at the minute.

Pathetic. confised

You have a brand spankingly new, 25,000 all seater arena, Sussex. I'm sorry, you've got no excuses on this.

To be fair, only four blocks were open last night, so that will have reduced costs a fair bit. Add to the fact it's the first round of a Paintpot cup match. I predicted around the 1,000 mark so I wasn't far off. It's still disappointing mind.

I wonder if the draw could be rigged.
It would tick a lot of boxes really - The 'insert name here' Arena would see a crowd, and we'd have a second 'bye' into the next round.

It gets even better:

The rarified atmosphere of the chamber has prompted Darlo Cockney to gush:

And despite what the Hangers may think, based upon our record so far, based upon our performance tonight, i'd fancy our chances of turning them over.

DC

Please let the draw go right. Without a doubt, we would better the score on St Eifion's day rolf

Am I the only one who takes no pleasure in this?

Give or take some bell ends (on both sides) the Loids are identical to us. Both are small towns in the North East with a piss poor history and a mirror image tradition. Darlington FC fans (those that still exist) are no different to the majority of us. They've been taken for a ride by several people, as have we. They've endured years of shite, as have we and they no doubt look up the A66 in envy, as did we when moneybags George R took over with his big promises.

Yes we remember the 'we're so rich its unbelievable' stuff and of course we wouldn't have said the same. 'We'll never play you again' they sang, as would we have. We throw back 'mind the gap' and the likes as would they in our position. Theres rivallry and piss taking but its getting a touch boring now, the odd crumb of sympathy wouldn't go amiss. I know some will say good riddance and I hate them but the fact is that if any of you lot were born 20 odd miles away you'd be one of them. It's an accident of birth.

I'd rather have the likes of Darlo and their 100 odd year history than countless plastic clubs that litter the league now. Incidentally, tell me one team who we got more exited over playing than them? Don't give me Sheffield Weds in the play offs, that was all about the occasion not the opposition.

I have every respect for the 1500 or so die hards that Darlo have, at the end of the day if you cut them down the middle they are the same as us when it comes to supporting a football club.

You'd think you lot have never had shit crowds!! Bearing in mind the backing you have from IOR & the teams youve been playing lately, your crowds are probably giving your owners equal cause for concern. Its the JPT for fucks sake, shit crowds all round even when some were local derbies.

828 in a 20000 seat arena speaks volumes.

The people of Darlow don't give a fook about your team and it is highly likely they never will

Yes equal cause for concern Phil! They may be able to stand a bigger loss than Raj Singh but they wont be overjoyed with 3500 home fans at home to Norwich etc

From what I understand, although he has a break even figure from the attendances, any off field activity is not included & becomes extra income to the club which apparently they do very well from.

Could you imagine how much the attendance would sky-rocket if Darlo got 'Pools at home?

That's what our crowds have been for a couple of years now and I see no alarm bells, we've signed 11 players!

Our crowds are comparable to most clubs of our size, everyone seems to have dropped in the last 18 months. The likes of Oldham, Stockport, Walsall, and Leyton Orient often have a similalr amount of home fans as us, it's just the way it's going. If we have a good season they will be back up around 5,000. 1,800 and 828 (when it was a tenner) is not really equal cause for concern is it? Jesus those crowds compare to Gateshead's at the moment.

Im not saying the crowds arent crap, because they are. Made even worse by Reynolds ego trip. Theres probably no alarm bells ringing just yet at Pools since Turner has probably blagged the bigger budget in return for promising better results & crowds. The pressure is on him to get crowds up by winning games, which is also the only way Todd can get crowds up at Darlo. Alot less pressure on Todd at themoment though!

I don't Turner will have promised anything of the sort, I think the only real target is improvement on last year. Slow and steady wins the race!

We are in a fortunate position which we should probably appreciate a bit more at times.

But 2,000....even 1,000....in a 7,000 (odd) capacity ground looks a lot better than 800 (odd) in a 27,000 capacity ground!!!!

I couldn't give two fecks if they went under tomorrow Mr.I....apart from a few decent supporters....I'd laugh until I died with sides split!!!!

Come one....could you imagine ANY Pools fan gloating at them if we got a 27,000 seater stadium built???? sctatchinghead

Some of them are that deluded they still go on about how much better it is to have that '(insert name)' Stadium than 4 Bus Shelters!!!!

Feck them I say!!!!

Anyway....That goes for the 'Decent' few fans of them aswell....they'd have had a chuckle with the 'We're so rich....Pack of scruffy bastards....We'll never play you again....' songs....so yeah....

FECK THE LOT OF THEM!!!!

Just to add about accrington, from the bbc website:

Accrington must pay a back tax bill of £308,000 in the next eight weeks or they face a winding-up order (Daily Star).

Good to see we've finally got a picture of Sussex at the top banner!
Whilst i've plenty of time for the decent Loid visitors around here, this bellend never ceases to amaze with his buffoonery taz

Many do, old chuffer, because unlike your idiotic self, I don't follow a team from a distance, and then make a complete twinnock of myself every single time I post

I asked this some time ago from you, without reply: Will you still pretend to be a Darlo fan when they sink out of the League? rolfl
