According to Mr Netanyahu's spokesman, Israel is ready to restrict construction for Jews in the occupied Palestinian territories. But it looks as if it won't be the comprehensive freeze that the Americans - and Palestinians - wanted.
Israel says it won't accept any restrictions on what it does in Jerusalem, part of which is occupied territory. A senior Israeli official said they were confident that the Americans would persuade the Palestinians to go along with the deal they're poised to make.


It's all aimed at paving the way for a resumption of US sponsored peace talks in the next few weeks. After that President Obama is hoping to unveil a Middle East peace plan at the UN in New York next month.
During this visit to London Mr Netanyahu has also quoted approvingly a call by the US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for crippling sanctions against Iran. She said they'd be necessary if diplomacy failed to stop Iran's programme of nuclear enrichment.

What are other peoples opinions on this matter?

Iam all for a free Palestine....but not a rocket firing free Palestine allied to Iran! The Muslim world needs to sort itself out, thats my view.

Yeah but those points didnt have to overcome religious devides which as history has told us never happens. How can you settle a difference between two groups in which they believe is correct as its been told to them as some believe by their God. All members of these two groups are willing to die for what they believe in so a jolly American President sat around a table telling them not to argue anymore and that both sides are correct isnt going to make a blind bit of difference.

Israel is the second worst terrorist nation on earth. It is armed to the teeth and supported to the hilt by the worst.

Israel is a lunatic, aggressive, dangerous (illegally) nuclear, rogue state that has consistantly defied UN resolutions ever since its creation.

Think what might be the reasons that the only friend in the world Israel could find to defend its actions was a Bush-lead White House. And why all of a sudden they might be interested in peace deals.

Incidently I have a total solution to all of the middle east conflict. The arabs loathe the state of Israel. The Israelis hate the arabs and Iranians. The US loves Israel. Israel loves the US.
There's plenty of space in the US. Give the Israelis Kansas instead of Palestine. You can even get Disney to build them Jerusalem. Then maybe the rest of the world can get some peace.
